10. Dodge Durango / Subaru Legacy / Toyota Tacoma / Toyota Avalon

Along with the ninth-place Honda Accord, the Subaru Legacy and Toyota Avalon were the only three-passenger cars to make the top 10 list. Like the remainder of the trucks and SUVs listed here, the 1997 to 2009 Dodge Durango is based on a body-on-frame construction (from the Dodge Dakota mid-sized pickup truck), unlike the current Durango’s unibody build.

9. GMC Sierra 1500 / GMC Yukon / Honda Accord

The David among the Goliaths, the Honda Accord mid-sized sedan ended up tied with the GMC Sierra 1500 pickup and the GMC Yukon SUV — both based on parent General Motors’ full-sized truck chassis — for ninth spot overall, but it ranked first-place for passenger cars.

8. Toyota Sequoia

The Sequoia — the SUV version of Toyota’s full-sized Tundra pickup truck — is one of four vehicles from the Japanese automaker to make the iSeeCars top 10 list. And although the Toyota SUV has never enjoyed the sales success of its domestic branded competition, what relatively few have been sold remain very durable.

7. GMC Yukon XL

It’s no surprise to see the GMC Yukon XL make this list. It’s essentially a stretched version of the truck-based Yukon SUV, allowing for extra cargo space behind its third-row of seating and with 1.9% of its vehicles with over 200,000 miles on the road.

6. Chevrolet Tahoe

First seen in 1992, the Chevrolet Tahoe full-sized SUV — a virtual clone of the ninth-place GMC Yukon — has been a popular choice for buyers seeking plenty of room for their passengers and cargo. And now, according to the iSeeCars survey, the Chevy SUV can be named as one of the longest-lasting vehicles on the road as well.

5. GMC Sierra 2500HD

One reason why the iSeeCars list is populated by so many trucks is due to the pickup’s fundamental design to haul and tow more than a passenger car or crossover. Therefore, vehicles like the GMC 2500 HD pickup — a heavy-duty version of the GMC Sierra 1500 truck — are built to be abused and withstand it for a long time.

4. Ford Expedition

A direct competitor of the second-place Chevrolet Suburban and seventh-place GMC Yukon XL, the Ford Expedition SUV is based on the Ford F-150 full-sized pickup truck. On-sale since 1996, the Expedition has changed little mechanically, which would make parts easily accessible for its owners to maintain over a longer period of time.

3. Toyota 4Runner

Ostensibly designed for being driven off-road, the Toyota 4Runner is a true die-hard on the road as well. The 4Runner SUV is based on the same platform as the Toyota Tacoma mid-sized pickup truck. Once again, here’s another body-on-frame vehicle that doesn’t mind a long-term relationship with its owners.

2. Chevrolet Suburban /Silverado 2500 HD

Here are two more vehicles based on GM’s full-sized truck platform to crack the iSeeCars top 10 longest-lasting vehicles list. The Suburban SUV is the Chevy version of the seventh-place GMC Yukon XL, while the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 is the heavy-duty version of the Silverado 1500 light-duty pickup truck.

1. Ford F-250 Super Duty

Of all the vehicles iSeeCars tracked, the number one longest lasting vehicle is the Ford F-250 Super Duty, the automaker’s heavy-duty version of its best-selling F-150 light-duty pickup truck. Like the majority of the vehicles on this list, the F-250 Super Duty uses a rugged, body-on-frame conduction.
